How do you get rid of car A/C odor?
That smell coming out of the vents when the air conditioning first kicks on is not in the cabin. It is in the A/C system itself, and spraying an air freshener at the dashboard does nothing to it. How do you use it?
Start up the vehicle, run the air conditioning on full cold at the highest blower setting, and apply A/C Odor Neutralizer through the exterior air intake. How is this different from cleaning the evaporator?

Does it mask the odor or remove it?
It eliminates it. Masking is what a hanging air freshener does, and it is why the smell is back by the end of the week.
Do I have to pull the cabin air filter first?
Strictly speaking it is optional, but we strongly recommend it. Leaving the filter in place blocks the mist and you will not get anywhere near the same result.
What does it smell like afterward?
A clean, light fresh air scent. It is not a heavy perfume.
